Candied Sweet Potatoes Recipe

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium sweetpotato
  • 1 cup corn sirup
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp butter


Instructions:

1. Partially cook the sweetpotatoes in boiling water, cook, and skin.
2. Cut the swe etpotatoes in halves lengthwise, or in three pieces if the sweetpotatoes are la rge.
3. Put in a greased baking dish large enough for just one layer, not packed too closely . Make a sirup by boiling the corn sirup, sugar, salt, and fat unt il fairly thick.
4. Pour the sirup over the sweetpotatoes and bake in a very mode rate oven for 1 hour or more.
5. Turn the sweetpotatoes carefully as they are cooking.
