Baked Oranges Recipe

Serves 12


  • 6 whole medium size oranges
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup red cinnamon
  • Candies


1. Boil unpeeled oranges in water until tender, less than 1 hour.
2. Cool oranges.
3. Cut oranges into quarters or eighths and place in baking dish.
4. Combine sugar, water, cinnamon and candies and heat until candies dissolve.
5. Pour this syrup over oranges.
6. Bake for 1 hour at 350 F.
7. Chill, preferably overnight.
8. Serve as accompaniment to meat, poultry or casserole dish.
