English Muffins Recipe

Makes 12 muffins

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cup unbleached white flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour


Instructions:

1. In a bowl, mix water, yeast, oil and salt.
2. Beat in the white flour, followed by the whole wheat flour.
3. Mix well.
4. Oil the dough's surface and allow to proof till light, about 25 minutes.
5. Knead dough slightly, till soft.
6. Cut into 6 poeces and roll each piece in cornmeal.
7. Form each ball into muffins, 3 3/4 inches in diameter.
8. Place on a cookie sheet.
9. Preheat oven to 350F and bake for 15 minutes.
