Caesar Salad Recipe

Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 garlic clove, sliced
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup French bread, cubed
  • 2 bn romaine lettuce
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard
  • Black pepper
  • 5 anchovies, mashed
  • 3 ds Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tbsp wine vinegar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 3 tbsp Parmesan cheese


  • Instructions:

    1. Steep garlic in 1/2 cup olive oil for 24 hours.
    2. Saute French bread cubes in 2 tablespoons of garlic oil from above.
    3. Wash and dry Romaine and break into 2-inch lengths.
    4. Place the romaine in a salad bowl and sprinkle over it the salt, dry mustard, and generous grating of black pepper.
    5. Add anchovy paste, and a few drops of Worcestershire sauce.
    6. Add the wine vinegar and remaining 6 tablespoons of garlic oil.
    7. Drop the egg from the shell onto the ingredients in bowl.
    8. Squeeze lemon juice over salad and toss.
    9. Add Parmesan cheese and serve.
