Corn-Meal Waffles Recipe

Makes 4 waffles

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cup corn-meal
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1/2 cup white flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup melted shortening
  • 1 tbsp sugar


Instructions:

1. Combine egg, shortening, milk, and corn-meal.
2. Sift flour, measure, and sift with baking powder, salt, and sugar.
3. Add to first mixture.
4. Beat until smooth.
5. Bake in hot waffle iron.
