Beetroot Chutney Recipe
Makes 4-5 pounds Ingredients: 3 pounds boiled beetroot
1 1/2 pounds apples
2 large onions
1 tsp salt
1/2 lb sugar
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 pint vinegar
Lemon juice
Instructions: 1. Chop apples and boil 20 minutes in vinegar to which sugar, lemon juice, salt, ginger and chopped onions have been added.
2. Add beetroot which should be cut up in small pieces, boil fruther 15 minutes.
3. When cool put into jars and cover.
