L'Hootz F'Tadjeen Recipe

Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb white fish, cut in chunks
  • 1 cup onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp lacama (see recipe)
  • 1 cup potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sweet red pepper
  • 1 cup tomatoes, cubed
  • 1/2 tsp saffron
  • 1/2 cup olive oil, heated
  • 1 red pepper, sliced


  • Instructions:

    1. Layer all ingredients.
    2. Pour over the hot oil.
    3. Top with the pimento.
    4. Simmer slowly for about 3/4 hour. Do not mix.
    5. Serve hot, with drops of lemon juice.
