Creamed Herring Recipe

Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz pickled herring in sour cream
  • 1/2 cup apple, tart, finely diced
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp white onion, finely diced


  • Instructions:

    1. Puree the herring (sauce and all) in a food processor or blender until smooth.
    2. Add all the other ingredients and continue to process until smooth.
    3. Cover and chill.
    4. Makes about 2 cups of dip. Suggested dippers: Cocktail Rye Bread, Lavasch Crackers, Broccoli, Cherry Tomatoes, Zucchini
