Fish in Tomato-Wine Sauce Recipe

Serves 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup tomato paste
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • Fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 lb flounder fillets, sliced into 3 inch pieces


  • Instructions:

    1. In very large skillet, saute onion, garlic until tender.
    2. Add basil and saute for another few minutes.
    3. Add everything else except fish.
    4. Bring to a boil and stir so that paste is mixed in.
    5. Simmer on low for 10-15 minutes.
    6. Add fish and simmer for an additional 15 minutes or until fish is completely cooked.
