Oriental Style Cod Recipe

Serves 4


  • 2 cup mung bean sprouts
  • 1/2 medium onion, halved
  • 4 cod fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1/2 inch thick
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1/4 cup sesame seed paste
  • 6 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1/2 medium red bell pepper
  • Seeded and cut into strips
  • 3 tsp minced fresh ginger
  • 1/2 cup snow peas, stringed


1. Place sprouts in shallow 10-inch microwave safe dish.
2. Separate onion into pieces; tuck into sprouts.
3. Season cod with salt and pepper.
4. Spread sesame paste over fillets; roll up with paste inside.
5. Place on vegetables.
6. Sprinkle fish with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1 teaspoon ginger.
7. Cover with microwave safe plastic wrap; turn back 1 corner.
8. Microwave on High 3 minutes.
9. Scatter bell pepper and snow peas over cod.
10. Cover with wrap, turn back 1 corner and microwave 5 minutes.
11. Let stand covered 1 minute.
12. Combine remaining soy sauce and ginger and serve with fish.
