Novel Crab Newburg Recipe

Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 can frozen cream of shrimp soup
  • 1 lb lump crab meat
  • 2 tbsp sherry


  • Instructions:

    1. Melt butter and blend in flour.
    2. Stir in milk and the soup, cooking slowly and stirring constantly, 3 to 5 minutes, or until soup thaws and sauce thickens.
    3. Simmer 1 minute.
    4. Add crab meat and continue cooking until crab is heated through.
    5. Stir in wine and blend.
    6. Good on hot waffles.
