Maryland Lady Crab Cakes Recipe

Serves 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Maryland crabmeat
  • 1 cup bread crumbs, Italian, seasoned
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp mustard, dry
  • Margarine, butter or oil, for frying


  • Instructions:

    1. Remove all cartilage from crabmeat.
    2. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, egg, [mayonnaise and seasonings.
    3. Add crabmeat and mix gently but thoroughly.
    4. If mixture is too dry, add a little more mayonnaise.
    5. Shape into 6 cakes.
    6. Cook cakes in fry pan, in just enough fat to prevent sticking, until browned; about 5 minutes on each side.
    7. If desired, crab cakes may be deep fried at 350F 2 to 3 minutes, or until browned.
