Maryland Lady Crab Cakes Recipe

Makes 6 crab cakes

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Maryland crabmeat
  • 1 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg, or 2 small
  • About 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • Margarine, butter or oil for frying


  • Instructions:

    1. Remove all cartilage from crabmeat.
    2. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, egg(s), mayonnaise and seasonings.
    3. Add crabmeat and mix gently but thoroughly.
    4. If mixture is too dry add a little more mayonnaise.
    5. Shape into six cakes.
    6. Cook cakes in fry pan, in just enough fat to prevent sticking, until browned; about 5 minutes on each side.
    7. If desired, crab cakes may be deep fried at 350 degrees, two to three minutes, or until browned.
