Hot Crab Bake Recipe

Serves 6

Ingredients:

  • 6 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cup milk
  • 1 can crab meat (7 1/2 oz), drained, flaked and cartilage removed
  • 2 hard cooked eggs, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped pimiento
  • 1/2 cup fine dry break crumbs
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds


  • Instructions:

    1. In skillet, melt 4 tbsp butter; blend in flour.
    2. Add milk all at once; cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.
    3. Stir in crab meat, chopped eggs, pimiento.
    4. 1 tsp salt, and 1/8 tsp pepper.
    5. Spoon mixture into 6 individual casserole dishes or baking shells.
    6. Melt remaining 2 tbs.
    7. butter, toss with bread crumbs to combine.
    8. Sprinkle crumbs atop crab mixture.
    9. Top with slivered almonds.
    10. Bake uncovered, at 350, for 20 to 25 minutes.
