Crab Cakes with Tomato Dill Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb crab meat, cooked, cartilage removed and meat flaked
  • 1 1/2 cups soft white bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp margarine
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 2 egg yolks, beaten
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Tomato Dill Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 tsp fresh dill weed, or 1/2 tsp dried
  • Tabasco Sauce:
  • 1 small tomato, chopped


  • Instructions:

    1. Mix all ingredients except Tomato Dill Sauce and oil.
    2. Shape mixture into 8 patties, each about 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
    3. Cover and refrigerate about 1 1/2 hours or until firm.
    4. Prepare Tomato Dill Sauce; cover and refrigerate until serving.
    5. Heat oil in 10 inch skillet over medium high heat.
    6. Cook patties in oil about 5 minutes, turning once, until light brown on both sides.
    7. Serve with sauce.
    8. For Tomate Dill Sauce, mix all ingredients until blended.
