Widow's Kisses Recipe

Makes 6 dozen cookies

Ingredients:

  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 3/4 oz granulated sugar
  • 1 3/4 oz confectioners' sugar
  • 4 1/4 oz nuts, coarsely ground
  • 1 3/4 oz citron, finely diced
  • Baking wafers

    • Instructions:

    1. Over steam, beat egg whites and sugar to firm peaks.
    2. Add nuts and citron.
    3. Put baking wafers on cookie sheet, putting a small heap (about a teaspoon?) of the mixture on top of each wafer.
    4. Let dry in oven.
