Ruggalach Recipe

Makes 48 cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb butter, or margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • Chopped walnuts
  • 2 tsp cinnamon


  • Instructions:

    1. Sift flour and blend with softened butter.
    2. Add sour cream and egg yolk.
    3. Divide into 4 equal balls and chill for at least 3 hours or overnight in refrigerator.
    4. For filling mix walnuts, sugar and cinnamon.
    5. Roll dough into 4 circles and cut into 12 wedges each.
    6. Roll with 1/2 tsp of filling at outer edge of wedge (wide end).
    7. Brush with egg white and dip in sugar mixture to coat top.
    8. Bake at 400 F for about 20 minutes on lightly greased sheet.
