Fudgy Pecan Pie Recipe

Serves 8


  • 1 pie crust, unbaked
  • 4 oz sweet cooking chocolate, or 2 oz unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/4 cup margarine or butter
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cups pecan halves, or pieces


1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
2. In medium saucepan, over low heat, melt chocolate with margarine.
3. Stir in sweetened condensed milk, hot water and eggs; mix well.
4. Remove from heat; stir in remaining ingredients.
5. Pour into prepared pie crust.
6. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until center is set.
7. Cool slightly.
8. Serve warm or chilled.
9. Garnish with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
10. Refrigerate leftovers.
