Navy Bean Soup Recipe
Serves 6 Ingredients: 1 cup dried beans
4 cup water, boiling
2/3 cup diced ham hock
1 tsp salt
1 onion, chopped
3 stalks of celery, chopped
Sprinkle of cayenne pepper
5 cup water
Instructions: 1. Wash beans and sort for quality.
2. Pour into 4 cups boiling water, remove from heat, and cover for 4 to 5 hours.
3. Cook onions in frying pan until golden, Add beans (drained), celery, seasonings and 5 cups water and ham hock to onions boil 30 mins.
4. Then simmer covered for 1 1/2 hours.
5. Add additional water if needed.
