Dutch Oven Beef Buns Recipe

Serves 8

Ingredients:

  • 4 cup cooked beef strips, 2 x 1/4"
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup butter or regular margarine
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 slice lemon
  • 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tsp prepared mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 8 hamburger buns


  • Instructions:

    1. Combine all of the ingredients, except the hamburger buns, in a 4-quart Dutch oven.
    2. Cook over high heat until the mixture comes to a boil.
    3. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 25 minutes or until the mixture thickens.
    4. Remove the lemon slices.
    5. Pour into a container, cover and refrigerate.
    6. Warm over medium heat and serve in the hamburger buns.
