Kahlua Mousse Recipe

Serves 8


  • 1 lb dark sweet chocolate, cut into pieces
  • 3 oz butter, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 1/4 cup Kahlua
  • 1 tsp instant coffee powder
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • Whipped cream (optional)


1. In top of double boiler, melt chocolate and butter over simmering water.
2. In large bowl, combine sugar, yolks, Kahlua and coffee powder.
3. Blend in chocolate mixture.
4. Whip cream until stiff peaks form; fold into Kahlua-chocolate mixture.
5. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form; fold into mixture.
6. Spoon into serving bowl or dessert glasses.
7. Refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
8. Garnish with whipped cream, if desired.
