Ginger Snaps Recipe

Makes 120 cookies



Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 2 tsp vinegar
  • 3 3/4 cup all purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 1/2 tsp soda
  • 3 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 60 marshmallows


Instructions:

1. Mix ingredients until well blended, in order.
2. Form dough into 3/4-inch balls.
3. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
4. Bake on a greased cookie sheet for about 12 minutes.
5. As the ball melts down during baking, the cookie develops the characteristic crinkled surface.
6. A great topping is 1/2 a marshmallow, cut side down, on the almost baked cookies.
7. Return to oven about 4 minutes.
8. When cool, ice to taste.
