Ginger Puffs Recipe
Makes 48 cookies Ingredients: 2 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup shortening, soft
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
1/2 cup light molasses
1 cup cooked oatmeal, cooled
Instructions: 1. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices into bowl.
2. Add remaining ingredients.
3. Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes.
4. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cooky sheets.
5. Bake in preheated moderate oven (375 F) 12 to 15 minutes.
6. Remove from cooky sheets; cool.
7. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar, if desired.
