Giant Honey and Oat Cookies Recipe

Makes 18 cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup shortening, softened
  • 2/3 cup honey
  • 3 egg whites
  • 4 cups quick-cooking or old-fashion oats
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt


Instructions:

1. Heat oven to 350 F.
2. Grease cookie sheet.
3. Mix sugar, shortening, honey and egg whites in large bowl.
4. Stir in remaining ingredients.
5. Drop dough by level 1/4 cupfuls about 3 inches apart onto cookie sheet.
6. Bake for 11 to 14 minutes or until edges are light brown (centers will be soft).
7. Cool for 3 to 4 minutes; remove from cookies sheet.
8. Cool on wire rack
