Almond-Stuffed Pears Recipe

Serves 6


  • 6 medium pears, peeled, halved and cored
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/3 cup white grape juice
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped toasted almonds
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp almond extract


1. Place pears, cut side down, in an ungreased 13-in x 9-in x 2-in baking dish.
2. Combine water and grape juice; pour over pears.
3. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes or until tender.
4. Turn the pears over.
5. Combine almonds, sugar and extract; mix well.
6. Spoon into pear cavities.
7. Bake, uncovered, for 5 minutes.
8. Serve warm.
