Orange Sorbet Recipe

Serves 6

Ingredients:

  • Grated rind of 1 orange
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 1 cup uncarbonated mineral water

  • Special Equipment: Ice Cream Maker


    Instructions:

    1. In a medium saucepan, simmer rind with water and sugar for 20 minutes.
    2. Cool.
    3. Strain.
    4. Set aside rind.
    5. Combine sugar syrup, orange juice and mineral water.
    6. Freeze in ice cream maker according to manufacturer's directions.
    7. Fold in orange rind just before sorbet firmly freezes.
