Orange-Sour Cream Cookies Recipe

Makes 24 cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 cup sugar
  • 2 butter, or margarine
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 pint sour cream
  • 4 cup flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder,double-acting
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 oranges, juice and rind
  • 3 tbsp butter, softened
  • 2/3 powdered sugar
  • 1 orange, juice and rind
  • Milk, as needed

    • Instructions:

    1. Cream 2 cups sugar and 2 sticks butter (or margarine). Add 3 eggs and sour cream alternately with with dry ingredients.
    2. Add juice and rind of 2 oranges.
    3. Drop by teaspoonsful onto greased cookie sheet.
    4. Bake at 400~ for 8-10 minutes (check after 6 minutes).

    Icing:
    Mix together last 4 ingredients, (3 tbssp margarine or butter, 2/3 box powderd sugar, juice and rind of one orange and milk as needed). Spread on cooled cookies.
