Golden Orange Pancakes Recipe

Makes 12 pancakes

Each Pancake: 85 calories, 3.8 g protein, 1.1 g fat, 15.9 g carbohydrate, 23 mg cholesterol, 0.8 mg iron, 162 mg sodium, 61 mg calcium.


  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup wheat germ
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp , salt
  • 3/4 cup skim milk
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened orange juice
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp grated orange rind
  • Vegetable cooking spray


1. Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl; make a well in center of mixture.
2. Combine milk, orange juice, egg, and orange rind; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened.
3. For each pancake, pour 1/4 cup batter into hot griddle or skillet that has been coated with cooking spray.
4. Turn pancakes when tops are covered with bubbles and edges look cooked.
5. Makes 12 4-inch pancakes.
