Cider Bugs Recipe

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 orange
  • 2 whole cloves
  • Brown sugar
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Whole nutmeg

  • Special Equipment:
  • Tissue paper
  • Colored plastic wrap


    Instructions:

    1. Cut oranges in half and remove the pulp as best you can.
    2. Dry the oranges in a 250 F oven for about 2 hours.
    3. Allow to cool thoroughly.
    4. Mound brown sugar into the empty half shell.
    5. Use cinnamon sticks for legs along the sides, 6 to 8 depending on the size of the orange. Just push them into the sugar.
    6. Add a whole nutmeg into the sugar as the head with 2 whole cloves for eyes.
    7. Wrap in tissue paper or colored plastic wrap with instruction to just drop into two quarts of cider and heat through.
