Date and Pecan Balls Recipe

Makes 50 cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups pecans, finely chopped
  • 1 cup dates, pitted/chop
  • Powdered sugar



  • Instructions:

    1. Cream butter and sugar in large bowl.
    2. Mix in vanilla and stir in flour.
    3. Add pecans and dates; mix thoroughly.
    4. Shape dough into walnut-sized balls.
    5. Transfer to waxed paper-lined tray.
    6. Freeze for 15 minutes or refrigerate overnight.
    7. Preheat oven to 350 F.
    8. Grease baking sheets.
    9. Arrange cookies on sheets, spacing 1 inch apart.
    10. Bake until golden, about 15 to 20 minutes.
    11. Roll in powdered sugar.
    12. Let cool slightly, then roll in powdered sugar again.
    13. Store cookies in airtight container.
