Brandied Fruit Melange Recipe
Serves 8 (1 cup each) Ingredients: 1/2 cup brandy, or 1/2 cup apple juice plus 1 tsp brandy extract
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 3 to 4-inch cinnamon stick
2 cup fresh frozen peach slices
2 medium unpeeled Granny Smith apples, cored, sliced and cut in half
2 medium seedless oranges, peeled and sectioned
1 cup halved strawberries
1 medium kiwi fruit, peeled 7 sliced
Instructions: 1. In a small saucepan, combine brandy, brown sugar and cinnamon stick; mix well.
2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly.
3. In large bowl, combine peaches, apples and oranges; mix well.
4. Pour hot brandy mixture over fruit; mix gently.
5. Cover; store in refrigerator 8 to 10 hours or overnight, stirring occasionally.
6. Just before serving, remove cinnamon stick.
7. Add strawberries and kiwi fruit; toss lightly.
8. Spoon into clear glass serving bowls to show off the bright colors.
