Spiced Apple Rings Recipe
Makes 12 1/2 cups Ingredients: 6 medium apples, firm
Sugar substitute to equal 1 1/2 cups sugar
2 sticks cinnamon
3 whole cloves
1 1/2 cups cranberry juice, unsweetened
1/4 cup lemon juice
Instructions: 1. Wash and core apples; slice, unpeeled, into thick slices.
2. Place in flat pan.
3. Combine remaining ingredients and boil for 5 minutes.
4. Reserve 1/4 cup juice mixture, and set aside.
5. Pour remaining juice mixture over apple slices.
6. Bake at 350 F for 45 minutes or until apples slices appear transparent; baste occasionally with the 1/4 cup juice mixture.
7. Serve hot or cold as a garnish for your salad, or by itself.
