Apple Nut Muffins Recipe

Makes 12 muffins

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup drippings or other shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup applesauce, unsweetened
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts


Instructions:

1. Sift flour, baking powder, sugar and salt together.
2. Add melted drippings and mix.
3. Add beaten eggs, applesauce and nuts.
4. Stir only until flour is moistened.
5. Fill greased 2 1/2 inch tins 2/3 full.
6. Bake in moderate oven 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
