Sausage Apple Omelette Roll Recipe

Serves 6 to 8

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup salad dressing
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 12 eggs, separated
  • 1 1/2 cup (12 oz) bulk pork sausage, cooked and drained
  • 1 cup (4 oz) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup apple, chopped


  • Instructions:

    1. Combine 1/2 cup salad dressing, flour, salt; gradually add milk and beaten egg yolks.
    2. Cook, stirring constantly, over low heat until thickened.
    3. Remove from heat; cool for 15 minutes.
    4. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    5. Pour into 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly roll pan lined with greased wax paper.
    6. Bake at 425 F for 20 minutes.
    7. Invert onto towel.
    8. Carefully remove wax paper.
    9. Cover with combined remaining salad dressing, sausage, 3/4 cup cheese, and apple.
    10. Roll up omelette, tarting at narrow end.
    11. Place, seam side down, on serving platter.
    12. Top with remaining cheese.
