Vermont Cheese Supper Recipe

Serves 2

Good on crackers, bread, toast, cooked asparagus, broccoli, or kippers.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup bread cubes, preferably whole-grain
  • 1 cup fresh milk
  • 1 tbsp margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup Vermont cheddar cheese, cubed


  • Instructions:

    1. Put bread cubes, milk and margarine in small double boiler.
    2. Let stand over warm water for 15 minutes.
    3. In cup measure, stir egg slightly and combine with cheese cubes.
    4. Cook and gently stir the combined mixtures until cheese is melted.
    5. Serve immediately.
