Chocolate Butter Tarts Recipe
Makes 12 tarts Ingredients: 3 squares bittersweet chocolate and 1 square bittersweet chocolate, melted
12 unbaked medium tart shells
3/4 cup lightly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup corn syrup
1 egg
2 tsp butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp vinegar
Pinch of salt
Instructions: 1. Chop each of the three squares of chocolate into 16 pieces.
2. Place 4 chunks into bottom of each tart shell.
3. Whisk together brown sugar, corn syrup, egg, butter, vanilla, vinegar, and salt.
4. Spoon into tart shells, filling three-quarters full.
5. Bake at 450 F for 12 to 14 minutes, or until filling is puffed and bubbly and pastry is light golden.
6. Let cool on racks.
7. Drizzle with melted chocolate.
