Best-Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Makes 80 cookies

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 12 oz semisweet chocolate morsels
  • Double Chip Cookies:
  • 1 cup peanut butter or butterscotch morsels
  • 6 oz semisweet chocolate morsels


  • Instructions:

    1. Cream butter and shortening; gradually add sugars, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer.
    2. Add eggs and vanilla, beating well.
    3. Combine flour, soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
    4. Stir in chocolate morsels.
    5. Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
    6. Bake at 375 degrees for 9 to 11 minutes.
    7. Cool slightly on cookie sheets; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

    Double Chip Cookies:
    Prepare Best-Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies, using peanut butter morsels or butterscotch morsels and semisweet chocolate morsels instead of 1 (12-ounce) package semisweet chocolate morsels.

    Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies:
    1. Prepare Best-Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies, dropping them onto ungreased cookie sheets by 1/4 cupfuls.
    2. Lightly press each cookie into a 3-inch circle with fingertips.
    3. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 17 minutes.
