Anne's Best Belgian Waffles Recipe

Makes 5 tasty waffles


  • 1 pk yeast, dry
  • 2 cup milk, lukewarm
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cup flour, sifted
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tbsp sugar


1. Sprinkle yeast over warm milk; stir to dissolve.
2. Beat egg yolks and add to yeast mixture with vanilla.
3. Sift together flour, sugar and salt; add to liquid ingredients.
4. Stir in melted butter and combine thoroughly.
5. Beat the egg whites until stiff; carefully fold into the mixture.
6. Let stand in a warm place about 45 minutes until mixture doubles in bulk.
7. Use 7/8 cup mix per waffle.
